LIFE OR DEATH REQUEST MADE TO BAHRAIN’S LEADERS

 

Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society (BHRWS), has urgently made a  request to Bahrain’s Ministry of Human Rights,  to be allowed to visti Mr Abdulhadi Al Khawaja, currently on hunger strike, in his prison cell as a matter of life and death.

 

Mr Faisal Fulad has recognised the strong wishes expressed by His Majesty the King, Shaikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has stated publicly his absolute concern for the human rights of his people and, under the circumstances, is requesting that compassion is shown, for the organization to visit Mr Al Khawaha in prison as soon as possible. 

 

Mr Fulad said, “We believe that  concern for human life is of paramount importance to His Majesty the King,  and we request him to allow immediate access to Mr Al Khawaja, so that we can provide him with the urgent care and attention he so desperately needs, medically and emotionally at this time.

 

BHRWS welcoem the news that your Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and a delegation from the Ministry of Health and a representative from the Association Principles for Human Rights  visited Jaw Prison and met with Mr. Al Khawja, However your statement said Mr. Al Khawaja  in good health, but hes companions still worried for his life.

 

He added, that, if such access is denied there would be no option but to raise  a complaint with the highest authority of global humanitarian associations, including the United Nations, in order for the appropriate action to be taken.

 

BHRWS is an association looking after the fundamental human rights of the citizens of Bahrain and works with other Human Rights organizations globally to bring about the restoration of human rights in the Kingdom.

In recognition of your concern for the rights of human beings in the Kingdom of Bahrain, we urgently request that Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society (BHRWS) who have recently had information of the dire condition of Mr Abdulhadi Al Khawja, on hunger strike in prison, are granted permission, along with medical practitioners concerned for his health as a matter of dire need, are allowed to visit Mr Abdulhadi Al Khawaja, currently on hunger strike in prison.
