Online plea for law to protect children

An online petition calling for child protection law was launched yesterday by the Bahrain Human Rights Watch Society.
The petition in Arabic and English can also be signed at Dana Mall where volunteers and officials from the Twinkle Advertisement are holding the campaign.
“We plan to collect as many signatures as we can and will send the petition to the Shura Council and the Chamber of Deputies. Bader’s case highlights that Bahrain needs a child protection law,” the society’s regional and international director, Faisal Fulad, told the Tribune.
Fulad said the Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council,  Mohammed Hamada, will present the key to the flat to the Bader family in Samaheej on Sunday.
The there-year-old toddler from Samaheej has been missing since July 10. The Ministry of Interior has announced a reward of BD20,000 and BHRWS BD1000 for any information leading to the boy.
